Something I wrote a while back...

Sometimes

I force myself to smile
I force myself to swallow it down
I make believe that everything is ok

Sometimes

There’s nothing left to feel other than be happy
I’m convinced that’s the way it should be
That the way it's headed is for the best

Sometimes

I break down when I see you happy
Knowing it’s not me who made you smile
Wondering how things come to this

Sometimes

I act selfishly
It’s you, it’s me
Surrender myself to uncertainty

Maybe

It’s time for me to move on
It was all a big mistake
It was never meant to be

Maybe

You’ll find it easier to forgive me
For not being there for you
For acting selfishly

Maybe

You won’t notice
I’ll be able to learn from this
And I’ll be able to forget this
